The Dream
Finding a viable and practical solution for the problem of hair loss and baldness is the dream of the vast majority of men at some point in their lives. They´d like to maintain their youthful appearance without the stigmas- and the traumas of toupees, hair grafts and medicines. Over the centuries since the days of the pharaohs, they´ve searched for miraculous cures. Needless to say, until now none of them worked. There is no medicine, or clinical treatment for genetic baldness.
The Reality
The great majority of the cases of male baldness are caused genetically. What does this mean? You carry, since birth, the gene for baldness. Nothing can change your genetic make-up. The hair transplant procedure has existed for many years. It´s the only effective treatment for baldness. In the last decade however, it has undergone radical change with a substantial improvement of the cosmetic quality and with the maximized use of the hairs removed from your donor area. The results are the irrefutable proof of this.
The Technique
The transplant consists of the removal of the live, healthy hair follicles, which are the roots of the hair, from the part of your head where hair still grows. With the use of a microscope, each hair is separated one-by-one, and artistically placed in the bald areas. The placement is done in an irregular way, with needles of different diameters, as asymetrical as possible, to get a result more blended, more natural. The surgery leaves no marks or scars. The hairs will begin to sprout 3 months after the transplant.
The Surgery
The surgery is made under local anaesthetic, with a little sedation in a hospital. No hospital stay is required and the patient will leave the same day. It lasts about 2 hours on average. The head bandage is removed on the following day, when the head is washed. The residual crusts fall in 15 days and during this interval, the patient needs to avoid sports, sun and traumatic activities. After this period, life returns to normal without any restrictions.
